Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring a full-time or part-time Associate Veterinarian to join a small animal practice serving dogs and cats in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This veterinarian-led practice is seeking an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about delivering high-quality general practice medicine while working within a collaborative and supportive environment focused on mentorship, autonomy, and professional growth.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical care while building strong, lasting relationships with clients and patients. Responsibilities include managing general practice and urgent care cases, performing dental and surgical procedures, overseeing anesthesia and patient monitoring, and delivering comprehensive preventive and medical care. The role offers the opportunity to practice medicine with clinical autonomy while working alongside an experienced leadership team committed to mentorship and continued development. This position is best suited for an experienced veterinarian seeking a collaborative culture with strong support and opportunities for career growth.

Practice Details
This full-scope general practice offers comprehensive veterinary services including dentistry, surgery, anesthesia and patient monitoring, laser surgery, orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, spay and neuter procedures, and tranquilization and sedation services. The hospital is led by a veterinarian with a background in advanced emergency surgery and critical care who is deeply committed to mentorship, education, and work-life balance. The practice emphasizes a supportive environment where veterinarians are encouraged to grow professionally while maintaining flexibility and autonomy in their work. Hospital hours are Monday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
