Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing care for dogs and cats and is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team. The practice is open to both full-time and part-time applicants and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to practise high-quality medicine in an AAHA-accredited hospital with a strong surgical caseload, outstanding mentorship, and a collaborative team dedicated to exceptional patient care.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventative care for dogs and cats while managing a varied general practice caseload. Responsibilities include performing wellness and sickness examinations, diagnostics, surgery, vaccinations, preventative healthcare, client education, and maintaining high standards of patient care. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop advanced surgical skills through exposure to complex orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures while working alongside an experienced veterinary team. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian seeking to further develop their clinical and surgical expertise within a supportive environment.
Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited general practice hospital, and an AAHA Hospital of the Year nominee, provides comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats throughout the Victor, Perinton, and Fairport communities. The hospital offers a robust surgical caseload, including complex orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures, supported by a highly trained technical team experienced in advanced anaesthesia protocols, nerve blocks, ventilator support, CPR, and Fear Free patient handling. Services include wellness and sickness examinations, vaccinations, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, spay and neuter procedures, dentistry, blood, urine, and faecal testing, diagnostic imaging including X-rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound, and preventative healthcare. The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The hospital is supported by a team of 5 DVMs and a great tenured support team, including experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians, animal care assistants, client service representatives, and veterinary kennel staff. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
