Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a small animal general practice hiring for an Associate Veterinarian to join their growing and dedicated team. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian who enjoys working in a full-service general practice environment, delivering high-quality medical and surgical care across a diverse caseload.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is only open every other Saturday. Specific doctor hours will align with these opening hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for delivering high-quality medical and surgical care to a diverse caseload. This includes conducting thorough physical examinations, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing routine surgical procedures, utilising diagnostic tools effectively, and developing and managing appropriate treatment plans. The role involves maintaining accurate and timely medical records, communicating clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and patient progress, and working collaboratively with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes. The Associate Veterinarian is expected to uphold clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards while demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and best practice veterinary medicine. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The clinic is spacious and fully equipped with in-house digital radiographs and ultrasound, a comprehensive in-house laboratory, regenerative medicine capabilities, and an advanced surgery suite including orthopaedic procedures. Additional equipment includes ultrasound, digital x-rays, in-house labs, laser therapy, Vcheck200, and an in-house diagnostic toolkit for T4, CPL, ProBNP, and Progesterone, with capabilities for further diagnostics. The practice was founded in 1991 with the goal of providing high-quality, compassionate, full-service healthcare. The caseload includes preventative wellness, urgent care, and routine general practice cases, alongside orthopaedic and soft-tissue surgery and dentistry, with an average daily patient volume of approximately 14 patients per DVM. Services include advanced surgery, laser therapy, alternative medicine, wellness care and exams, vaccinations, dental care, diagnostics and imaging, spay and neuter procedures, parasite prevention, deworming, microchipping, and general pet surgery. The practice culture is highly collaborative and productive, valuing the unique expertise each veterinarian brings while supporting individualised approaches to practicing medicine and a strong commitment to work-life balance.

Team
The veterinary team consists of four DVMs supported by a highly skilled support staff, with an approximate support staff ratio of four to five team members per DVM. The environment is collaborative and supportive, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and delivering exceptional patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
