Working Hours / Rota
The role includes early morning herd health visits and participation in an on-call rotation every fourth weekend to provide emergency support. This is a full-time position with the schedule centered on farm calls.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Dairy/Herd Health Veterinarian will provide high-quality preventive and production-oriented care to large dairy herds. Daily responsibilities include reproductive work, pregnancy checks, managing mastitis cases, preventive herd health programs such as vaccines and disease surveillance, and certifying health documents including brucellosis and TB. The role also involves performing obstetrics such as fetal extractions and occasional C-sections, along with consulting producers on herd management, production, and operations. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentoring available.
