Job Description
Introduction
An Associate Veterinarian is needed to join a growing small animal practice in Tucson, Arizona. Originally established as a spay and neuter clinic, the hospital has since evolved into a full-service facility, providing comprehensive care to cats and dogs while maintaining its community-centered roots. The practice is open to expanding its services in alignment with a new doctor’s professional interests, offering flexibility and opportunities for clinical growth.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday, with no weekend hours, ensuring an excellent work-life balance. Full-time and part-time schedules are available, allowing flexibility based on individual preference.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will deliver high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care while maintaining a compassionate and client-focused approach. The role can be tailored to the doctor’s interests, with the option to focus exclusively on surgery or to include general practice duties such as wellness exams, diagnostics, and dentistry. Collaboration and open communication are key components of the clinic’s team-oriented culture.
Practice Details
The hospital is well-equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, including digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, IDEXX in-house laboratory systems, ultrasound, and an in-house dispensary. The facility features five exam rooms, one of which is dedicated to euthanasia procedures, providing a respectful and private space for clients. The clinic’s evolution from a high-volume spay/neuter practice to a full-service hospital reflects its ongoing commitment to accessible, high-quality veterinary care.
Team
The incoming veterinarian will join a small, supportive team that includes one doctor working Tuesday through Thursday and another on Fridays. Both are experienced and collaborative, providing a positive and adaptable environment. The staff is cross-trained and dedicated to maintaining a friendly, efficient, and professional workplace where teamwork is highly valued.
