Introduction
Offering the flexibility of a three or four-day working week alongside a varied GP and daytime Emergency caseload, this recently refreshed companion animal hospital in Torrance, California is looking to welcome a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Providing comprehensive care for dogs and cats, the hospital combines the relationships and continuity that come with General Practice with the added clinical variety of Urgent and Emergency cases during regular operating hours. It’s a nice opportunity for an experienced veterinarian who wants a broad caseload without sacrificing flexibility outside of work.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities alongside Urgent and Emergency cases that present during the hospital’s regular hours. You’ll take ownership of a varied caseload across medicine, diagnostics, treatment planning, dentistry and surgery, with the opportunity to stay closely involved with patients throughout their care. The hospital is looking for an experienced veterinarian who is comfortable using their own clinical judgement while working collaboratively with the veterinarians, technicians and support team around them. There’s plenty of flexibility around how the working week is structured, with three-day, four-day and rotating 3/4/3 schedule options available, giving you the opportunity to find a pattern that works well around life outside the hospital.

Practice Details
The hospital operates from a recently refreshed and spacious facility and provides a full scope of GP services alongside Urgent and Emergency Care during regular operating hours. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Radiography, Ultrasound, ECG, an In-House Laboratory, an In-House Pharmacy and advanced anesthetic and patient monitoring equipment, supporting a broad range of medical, diagnostic and surgical cases. Surgical capabilities include routine and Soft Tissue Surgery, while comprehensive preventive and restorative dentistry is also available. The hospital is open Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, closed Wednesday, and open Thursday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Team
You’ll be working alongside an experienced team of veterinarians, technicians and support staff, with the hospital putting a strong emphasis on collaboration and giving everyone the support they need to provide high-quality medicine. The practice retains its own local identity and team culture while having access to the additional clinical resources and development opportunities of a wider veterinary network. That gives you people within the hospital to bounce ideas off and work through cases with, alongside additional resources when needed, while still allowing you to build your own relationships with clients and take ownership of your patients.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
