Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a mobile veterinary imaging service providing diagnostic ultrasound services for dogs and cats across Tampa and the surrounding region. They are seeking a Mobile Imaging Veterinarian to join their team on a full-time basis. The service brings advanced diagnostic imaging directly to primary care veterinary hospitals, allowing patients to remain in a familiar clinical environment while providing referring veterinarians with timely diagnostic support.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Mobile Imaging Veterinarian will travel throughout the Tampa service area and work directly with primary care veterinarians while collaborating with specialists on diagnostic cases. Responsibilities include abdominal and thoracic ultrasound examinations, pregnancy evaluations, thyroid and parathyroid evaluations, cryptorchid and ocular examinations, general health screening, and full diagnostic echocardiograms for interpretation by a boarded cardiologist. The veterinarian will also perform ultrasound-guided fluid cavity centesis, Tru-cut tissue core biopsies, and fine-needle biopsies, as well as prepare accurate, thorough, and timely medical reports. The role operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and includes up to four months of paid training. This position requires a veterinarian with strong ultrasound experience and is not open to new graduates.

Practice Details
The mobile service was established in 2012 and provides diagnostic ultrasound services directly to veterinary hospitals. Its clinical focus includes echocardiography, abdominal and thoracic ultrasound, advanced ultrasound examinations, and ultrasound-guided interventional procedures. The model is designed to provide hospital-level diagnostic imaging within primary care clinics while enabling direct collaboration between referring veterinarians and specialists. Mentorship, continuous education, and structured training are provided to support continued development in veterinary diagnostic imaging.

Team
Across the service area, there is currently one other veterinarian in the same role. The working environment emphasizes collaboration with primary care veterinarians and specialists, alongside mentorship and continued professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
