Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a Full- or Part-Time Associate Veterinarian. This AAHA-accredited small animal clinic, located in Swansea, Illinois serves a diverse caseload including dogs, cats, reptiles, and small mammals. Privately owned and deeply rooted in the community since 2005, the practice is focused on delivering high-quality medicine, exceptional client service, and team-oriented care.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open during the week with a standard full-time schedule of four weekdays and a rotating Saturday. There is flexibility for part-time scheduling and accommodations for limited weekend availability. The practice supports individual preferences and offers a customized schedule tailored to each veterinarian’s lifestyle and interests.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering high-quality, comprehensive care, including wellness, internal medicine, surgery, and dentistry. The role includes 30-minute appointments to allow for thorough exams and client communication. Veterinarians have the flexibility to focus on specific areas of interest and may opt out of surgery if preferred. This position is open to both experienced doctors and new graduates, with a structured and proven mentorship program available for early-career veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital operates from a newly remodeled, 7,500 square foot facility featuring eight exam rooms, including a feline-only space. It is equipped with digital radiography, dental x-ray, ultrasound, class IV cold laser, Zoetis in-house labs, and cloud-based medical records. The clinic adheres to fear-free principles and is designed to support a modern, progressive approach to veterinary medicine. With its emphasis on professional freedom and collaboration, the hospital provides a strong platform for both new and experienced veterinarians.

Team
The team includes three experienced DVMs, supported by a skilled and committed staff with a 2.5:1 technician-to-doctor ratio. The practice culture is collaborative, mentorship-focused, and centered on individualized growth. With plans to expand, the team is now seeking a fifth veterinarian to help meet the growing demand while maintaining the clinic’s high standard of care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
