Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking to hire a lead veterinarian. This full-service general practice hospital sees cats and dogs and is looking for an experienced lead veterinarian to join their team.
Working Hours / Rota
The ideal schedule for this full-time position would be four weekdays with rotating Saturdays, and specific doctor hours remain open to discussion. The hospital’s opening hours are Monday to Friday 10 am–8 pm and Saturday 10 am–4 pm, with the hospital closed on Sundays.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The lead veterinarian will provide full general practice responsibilities, including wellness care, vaccinations, treatment for non-emergency injuries and illnesses, and routine surgical procedures. This role is open to experienced candidates.
Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA accredited and operates as a full-service general practice hospital that offers a complete spectrum of primary care services and urgent care services for clients. The facility is equipped with a LogiQ ultrasound, digital x-ray and dental x-ray, IM3 dental machine with suction, and Cubex, allowing autonomy to practice medicine your way. The hospital features a stocked break room, a private entrance for contagious patients and euthanasia, large dog runs, seven exam rooms including a dedicated cat room, an expansive treatment room for efficiency, a doctor’s suite within treatment to streamline record-keeping, a surgical suite, dental suite, dedicated oncology room, ultrasound room, and an in-house laboratory. A veterinary ER is located within six minutes of the hospital.
Team
The team consists of a large group of DVMs and specialists supported by tenured support staff, fostering a phenomenal team environment with a positive hospital culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
