Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital in Stratford, Connecticut, seeking a veterinarian to join their growing primary care team. The hospital provides care primarily for cats and dogs and combines a positive culture with a collaborative team in a modern, stand-alone facility. The practice is part of a larger network of specialists, offering opportunities to work alongside oncology, radiology, and cardiology services.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday, 10 am – 8 pm, and Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm. Specific doctor hours are open to discussion. The position can accommodate full-time or part-time preferences.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The veterinarian will provide full general practice responsibilities, including wellness, same-day sick appointments, and support for surgical and dental procedures. The role allows autonomy in practicing medicine while benefiting from collaborative input from the network of specialists. This position is suitable for both experienced veterinarians and recent graduates.
Practice Details
The facility includes seven exam rooms, including a dedicated cat room, an expansive treatment area, a doctor’s suite within treatment, a surgical suite, a dental suite, a dedicated oncology room, an ultrasound room, and an in-house laboratory. Equipment includes LogiQ ultrasound, digital x-ray and dental x-ray, IM3 dental machine with suction, and Cubex. Additional features include large dog runs, a stocked break room, and a private entrance for contagious patients or euthanasia. The hospital maintains a high standard of patient care and a positive, welcoming environment.
Team
The veterinarian will join a team of two DVMs and be supported by a collaborative team of veterinary technicians, assistants, and a head manager who is a certified veterinary technician. The environment emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and a positive hospital culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
