Job Description

Introduction
Our client is an independent, family-owned, woman-owned and family-operated small animal hospital seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian to join its team. Caring for dogs and cats, the practice provides comprehensive general practice medicine spanning preventative care, diagnostics, internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery. Founded by a veterinarian in 2018, the hospital was created to combine high-quality medicine with a personal, compassionate, and less rushed approach to veterinary care. Thorough consultations, transparent pricing, and attentive patient care are central to the practice, with a focus on appropriate treatment without unnecessary upselling.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive general practice care across preventative and wellness medicine, diagnostics, internal medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. The practice is particularly interested in finding a veterinarian who enjoys surgery and mentoring and values the opportunity to provide thorough, personalised care rather than working within a rushed, high-volume environment.
Clinical responsibilities include puppy and kitten care, adult and senior wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention, microchipping, illness examinations, behavioural advice, dermatology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, chronic illness management, palliative and geriatric care, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. Surgical procedures include spays and neuters, mass removals, gastropexy, hernia repair, and other soft tissue procedures. Diagnostic workups are supported by digital radiography, ultrasound, digital dental radiography, and comprehensive in-house laboratory testing.

Practice Details
This state-of-the-art small animal general practice provides comprehensive medical, diagnostic, dental, and surgical care within a purpose-designed environment. The hospital is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and is closed on Sundays, with appointments required. After-hours emergency and specialty cases are referred to a nearby 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital.
Advanced clinical resources include X-ray equipment, ultrasound, digital dental radiography, and a comprehensive patient monitoring system. An in-house laboratory supports blood chemistry, complete blood counts, coagulation testing, urinalysis, and urine sediment analysis, while an in-house pharmacy provides additional convenience. Examination rooms are also equipped to deliver oxygen therapy directly to patients.
Opened in July 2018, the facility was personally designed by its veterinarian founder alongside her husband, a professional theme park designer. The bright, airy and calming environment incorporates blue accents, soft jazz and classical music, while individual patient rooms feature adjustable lighting and call buttons. Examination rooms capable of providing oxygen support allow patients requiring oxygen therapy to remain close to their owners.
Services include preventative medicine, puppy and kitten examinations, adult and senior wellness care, vaccinations, parasite prevention, microchipping, behavioural advice, illness examinations, dermatology, ophthalmology, cardiology, internal medicine, chronic illness management, palliative care, geriatric medicine, laboratory diagnostics, digital radiography, ultrasound, dentistry, digital dental radiography, and soft tissue surgery. Surgical services include spays and neuters, mass removals, gastropexy, hernia repair, and other soft tissue procedures. A board-certified Cardiologist who is also board certified in Emergency and Critical Care is available by appointment for existing patients, and the practice provides both in-house and online pharmacy services.
The practice was founded by a veterinarian with previous Emergency and Critical Care experience who wanted to combine advanced, high-quality medicine with a more personal and less rushed general practice environment. Her background includes a small animal rotating internship with advanced training alongside board-certified specialists in Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Cardiology, and Oncology, followed by experience in Emergency and Critical Care before transitioning into general practice. Her research has also been published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

Team
The hospital has a six-veterinarian team comprising five general practice veterinarians and one board-certified Cardiologist who provides cardiology consultations for existing patients by appointment. The working environment focuses on compassionate, personalised care and providing veterinarians and staff with sufficient time to deliver attentive medicine rather than operating within a rushed, high-volume model.
Across the veterinary team, clinical interests and experience include preventative medicine, Emergency and Trauma Medicine, cardiology, diagnostic ultrasound, radiology, feline geriatric medicine, dentistry, dermatology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, surgery, and geriatric and hospice care. The team also has access to a veterinarian who is dual board certified in Cardiology and Emergency and Critical Care for cardiology consultations.
