Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned small animal hospital seeing cats, dogs, and some exotics, currently hiring for an Associate Veterinarian. The hospital is open to both full-time and part-time candidates and is seeking someone who enjoys a varied GP caseload within a well-equipped and modern environment. The practice has been privately owned for over 20 years and has built a loyal client base, with many clients willing to travel further specifically to visit the hospital.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The role will involve a full scope of general practice responsibilities, including routine appointments, wellness care, diagnostics, and surgery. Scheduling is open for discussion and the hospital would prefer someone with experience, although confident new graduates will also be considered. The practice also offers 30-minute appointments, allowing veterinarians additional time with clients and patients, and occasionally provides house calls when needed.
Practice Details
The hospital offers a full scope of GP services and operates from very clean, up-to-date facilities following a full refurbishment in 2021. Equipment includes digital X-ray, ultrasound, echocardiograms, IDEXX in-house laboratories, and electronic medical records using Avimark. The practice is Fear Free Certified and also offers alternative treatment approaches, with one of the current doctors providing Chinese medicine and acupuncture services.
The hospital operates Monday through Saturday with a midweek closure on Thursdays and is closed on Sundays. Hours are 8:30am–6:00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:30am–5:30pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, and 8:30am–1:00pm on Saturdays. During the summer months, the practice is open every other Saturday.
Team
The team currently consists of one full-time DVM, one per diem veterinarian, and one travelling specialist, alongside a great support staff team. The hospital is proud to have long-standing staff members who have been with the practice for many years, contributing to a stable and collaborative working environment.
