Job Description

Introduction
Offering General Practice and Urgent Care seven days a week, this modern small animal hospital in Seal Beach, California is looking to welcome a full-time Associate Veterinarian to its growing team. Providing care for dogs and cats, the hospital opened in 2024 and operates from a new facility designed to support a broad caseload ranging from routine wellness through to non-life-threatening emergencies. There’s a nice balance here between building relationships with regular GP clients and having the clinical variety that comes with a busy Urgent Care service.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities alongside the opportunity to manage Urgent Care cases, giving you plenty of variety across medicine, diagnostics, treatment planning, surgery and dentistry. You’ll take ownership of your patients from the initial work-up through to treatment and ongoing case management, with the freedom to use your own clinical judgement while having a supportive team around you to collaborate with when needed. Client communication is an important part of the role, with a focus on helping owners understand diagnostic findings and feel confident in the treatment decisions they make for their pets. There’s also a strong emphasis on continued development, with ongoing education, hands-on training and structured mentorship available to help you build your skills and explore the areas of veterinary medicine that interest you most.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services alongside Urgent Care, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Laser Therapy and advanced surgical care, with Emergency evaluation, stabilization and hospitalization also available during regular operating hours. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Radiography, Ultrasound, ECG, Tonometry, Blood and Laboratory Testing, a Surgical Laser and modern anesthetic monitoring equipment, giving the team a strong range of resources for working cases up and managing them in-house. Surgical capabilities extend beyond routine procedures to Orthopedic Surgery and TPLO, while access to board-certified specialists within the wider network provides another layer of support for more involved cases. The hospital is open seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Team
You’ll currently be joining a 2-DVM team, working alongside an established paraprofessional team within a hospital that places a lot of value on collaboration and continued learning. Being a relatively new hospital means there’s still plenty of opportunity to grow alongside the practice and contribute to the culture as the team develops, rather than simply stepping into a way of working that has been unchanged for years. There’s a strong focus on sharing knowledge, hands-on training and helping people progress towards their individual career goals, while the wider veterinary network also gives you access to additional clinicians and specialists when you want another perspective on a case.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
