Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a thriving, multi-doctor small animal and exotics practice on California’s Central Coast seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their collaborative team. This well-established clinic provides high-quality veterinary care for dogs, cats, avian, and exotic species in a modern, supportive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. It is closed on Sundays. This position offers flexibility for either full-time or part-time hours, with no after-hours or on-call duties, supporting an excellent work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will deliver compassionate, high-quality care to companion animals, with opportunities to see avian and exotic patients if desired. Daily responsibilities include providing wellness care, dentistry, diagnostics, medical and surgical services, and urgent care. The role allows veterinarians to explore and focus on individual areas of interest, such as surgery, holistic medicine, or exotic care, while working alongside a collaborative team. This position is best suited for an experienced veterinarian who thrives in a supportive and collegial environment.

Practice Details
The hospital is a modern, spacious facility equipped with digital radiography, a dental suite with digital dental X-rays, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory services. The practice also offers boarding, wellness care, dentistry, medical and surgical services, diagnostics, and urgent care. The imaging suite features a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine and digital X-ray system, with regular consultations from a board-certified veterinary radiologist to ensure advanced diagnostic capabilities.

Team
The clinic is home to three DVMs supported by a skilled and friendly team. The practice fosters a positive, collaborative culture with strong mentorship, professional growth opportunities, and a relaxed, collegial atmosphere.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
