Job Description
Introduction
This AAHA-accredited small animal hospital in Sandy, Utah is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join its four-doctor team. Established in the community for 28 years, the hospital provides comprehensive care for cats, dogs and some exotic species, with a varied caseload spanning preventative medicine, sick patient care, diagnostics and surgery. Students and new graduates are encouraged to apply, with dedicated mentorship available to support their clinical development.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 8:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. This position follows a four-day working week consisting of four 10-hour shifts, alongside a rotation of two Saturdays per month.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you’ll manage a mixture of wellness and sick patients, providing examinations, diagnostic work-ups, treatment planning and ongoing medical care. You’ll have opportunities to work with cats, dogs and some exotic patients while developing your skills across general medicine, surgery and diagnostics. You’ll work alongside an experienced veterinary team in a collaborative environment, with structured mentorship available for students and new graduates and Fear Free techniques incorporated where possible.
Practice Details
The AAHA-accredited hospital has a four-doctor team and offers a broad range of diagnostic and treatment capabilities. The facility includes digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, cold and therapeutic laser equipment, soft tissue surgical capabilities and feline hyperthyroid treatment. These resources support both routine preventative medicine and more involved medical cases while providing doctors with opportunities to develop across a varied general practice caseload.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
