Job Description
Introduction
This AAHA-accredited small animal hospital in Salem, Oregon is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its experienced team of three veterinarians. The practice provides high-quality care for dogs and cats, with opportunities to see rabbits and pocket pets for those with an interest. You’ll enjoy a varied caseload ranging from preventative medicine and dentistry to soft tissue surgery and occasional emergency cases. The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, offering a consistent full-time schedule.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you’ll provide preventative care, diagnostics, medical treatment, dentistry, and routine surgical procedures while building lasting relationships with clients and their pets. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive examinations, developing treatment plans, carrying out surgeries such as spays, neuters, abscess removals, and laceration repairs, maintaining accurate medical records, and working collaboratively with the veterinary and support teams to deliver exceptional patient care.
Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited hospital is equipped with six examination rooms, a dedicated comfort room, a dental suite with digital dental radiography, full-body digital radiography, and follows hands-free radiology safety standards. Many members of the team are Fear Free Certified, and the practice is recognised as cat friendly with a dedicated feline consultation room. The hospital combines modern equipment with a strong focus on low-stress handling and high-quality medicine.
Team
You’ll join a collaborative team of three veterinarians supported by experienced technicians and assistants, many of whom have been with the hospital for more than 14 years. The practice places a strong emphasis on education, cross-training, and teamwork, creating a supportive environment where both experienced veterinarians and those looking to further develop their skills can thrive.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
