Job Description

A well-established mixed animal practice in St. Francis, KS, is seeking a Veterinarian to join its team. The caseload is approximately 50% small animals and 50% large animals, with occasional exotics. A small animal-only veterinarian would be considered, and additional equine cases would be welcomed. The hospital has two full-time veterinarians. Appointment lengths vary, with 30-minute sick exams and 15-minute vaccine appointments. The practice offers reproductive services for French Bulldogs, FHOs, and CCL repairs. Equipment includes a CVC, thyroid machine, digital x-ray, ultrasound, Heska in-house labs, and IDEXX Cornerstone EMR. The facility features three exam rooms, an x-ray room, a recovery room, two surgical suites, and more! Large animal facilities include a hydraulic chute, portable hydraulic chute, calf cradles, and calf hospital pens, with a tilt chute planned for the barn. The hospital was remodeled in 2020. Full-time and part-time positions are available, with flexible scheduling. Full-time doctors work five days one week (including Saturday mornings) and four days the next. Part-time doctors typically work three days per week, with a preference for Monday availability. The practice has a strong history of mentoring new graduates. After-hours emergency calls are split every third night and weekend, with additional compensation through a quarterly bonus.
