Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a full-service veterinary hospital equipped with the latest veterinary technology, serving the community for more than 20 years. They are currently hiring for an Associate Veterinarian, with a full-time preference but openness to part-time candidates. The hospital sees a diverse range of species including birds, cats, dogs, reptiles, and small mammals such as rabbits, hamsters, and ferrets.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role involves the full scope of general practice responsibilities, providing comprehensive care across a varied caseload. Daily duties include routine wellness exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, and medical case management. The position may also involve surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine as part of general practice services. The schedule includes rotating weekends, with specific hours to be discussed. The role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, offering flexibility depending on the candidate’s level of experience.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. It is equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, and dental x-ray, although equipment is not limited to these. Facilities include an isolation ward, in-office surgical suite, and in-house pharmacy. The practice is AAHA-accredited and offers a full scope of GP services alongside advanced dental care, radioactive iodine therapy, and oxygen and transfusion therapy. The team is committed to using fear-free techniques when possible.
Team
The team consists of 3 DVMs supported by 12 staff members. Veterinarians, technicians, and support staff are trained to the highest standards and maintain thorough knowledge of the latest procedures and medicines. The hospital fosters a collaborative environment and maintains a minimum 2:1 staff-to-doctor ratio, supporting efficient workflows and quality patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
