Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing care for cats, dogs, pocket pets, and rabbits and is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team in Rome, New York. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. This AAHA-accredited companion animal hospital combines advanced veterinary technology, modern facilities, and a highly supportive team environment to provide comprehensive patient care. The position is suitable for both experienced veterinarians and new graduates seeking dedicated mentorship and professional development opportunities.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical care across a varied caseload that includes cats, dogs, pocket pets, and rabbits. Clinical responsibilities include preventative medicine, diagnostics, internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, emergency care, hospitalization management, geriatric medicine, pain management, and client education. The role involves working closely with clients and support staff to deliver high-quality patient care while contributing to a collaborative and compassionate hospital environment. Both experienced veterinarians and new graduates are encouraged to apply, with dedicated mentorship available to support career development.
Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited hospital operates with both hands-free and Fear Free principles and is equipped with advanced veterinary technology and modern facilities. Equipment and facilities include dental radiography, an in-house laboratory, an in-house pharmacy, an in-office surgical suite, an isolation ward, radiology capabilities, and intensive care facilities. Services offered include advanced dental care, feline hyperthyroidism management, OFA radiography, allergy and itchy skin relief, anesthesia, dental care, dentistry, DNA breed testing, ear checks, emergency care, euthanasia services, full diagnostics, general surgery, geriatric medicine, health examinations, hospitalization, intensive care, internal medicine, oxygen and transfusion therapy, pain management, periodontics, routine surgeries, sevoflurane anesthesia, spays and neuters, urology, and radiology services. The hospital is supported by experienced staff and modern resources designed to help veterinarians provide high-quality patient care. Hospital hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
