Introduction
An established small-animal veterinary hospital in Rocky Point, North Carolina is seeking a Full or Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join its clinical team. Founded in 2006, the hospital provides comprehensive General Practice services for dogs and cats, alongside veterinary care for potbellied pigs. The position offers a varied medical and surgical caseload, encompassing preventive medicine, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Surgery and Urgent Care. The practice provides a collaborative clinical environment, supported by experienced veterinary colleagues and access to a visiting board-certified Veterinary Surgeon. Applications are welcomed from both experienced veterinarians and newer graduates, with opportunities for clinical development and the pursuit of individual professional interests. The hospital also offers a weekday-only schedule, supporting a balance between clinical responsibilities and personal commitments.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, including wellness and preventive care, diagnostic investigation, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery and ongoing medical management. The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for conducting clinical examinations, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, developing appropriate treatment plans and performing surgical and dental procedures within their clinical capabilities. Responsibilities include managing routine and complex medical presentations, providing preventive healthcare recommendations and assessing patients requiring same-day or Urgent Care treatment. The practice also treats potbellied pigs, offering opportunities to work with an additional companion animal species according to the veterinarian’s experience and interests. The successful veterinarian will collaborate with veterinary colleagues and support personnel to maintain high standards of patient care, with access to a visiting board-certified Veterinary Surgeon for consultation and exposure to advanced surgical procedures. The role provides opportunities for continued clinical development within a supportive, teaching-focused environment.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of General Practice services, including Preventive Medicine, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery and Urgent Care. Surgical services include more advanced Soft Tissue procedures, supported by access to a visiting board-certified Veterinary Surgeon. The practice also provides veterinary care for potbellied pigs, alongside its established canine and feline caseload. Diagnostic equipment and clinical capabilities include Digital Whole-Body Radiography, Digital Dental Radiography and comprehensive In-House Diagnostic Testing, supporting medical investigation, dental assessment and surgical treatment planning. Additional services include Companion Laser Therapy, Dog and Cat Boarding, Bathing and limited Grooming services for patients requiring sedation. The hospital also has access to a board-certified Radiologist for specialist interpretation of diagnostic images when required. The practice is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Team
The hospital’s current clinical team includes two veterinarians, comprising the Practice Owner and an Associate Veterinarian, supported by an established group of veterinary and administrative personnel. The veterinary team brings experience in General Practice, Surgery and Internal Medicine, with additional clinical interests supporting the management of varied patient presentations. The incoming Associate Veterinarian will work within a collaborative environment focused on effective communication, shared clinical knowledge and maintaining long-term client relationships. Access to a visiting board-certified Veterinary Surgeon and specialist Radiology consultation provides opportunities for collaborative case management and further clinical development. The practice welcomes newer graduates seeking to strengthen their medical and surgical skills, alongside experienced veterinarians interested in contributing to an established clinical team.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
