Job Description

Introduction
For a veterinarian who enjoys the relationships of General Practice but wants plenty of scope to manage more involved medical and surgical cases in-house, this full-service hospital in Riverbank, California is looking to welcome a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Providing care for dogs and cats, the hospital has been serving families across Riverbank and the Central Valley since 1952, combining decades of community relationships with a broad range of diagnostic, surgical and complementary medical services. Flexible scheduling is also available, giving you some room to find a working pattern that fits well around life outside the hospital.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, giving you ownership of your patients across comprehensive examinations, medical work-ups, diagnostics, treatment planning, surgery and dentistry. You’ll work alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians and support staff, with daily case rounds encouraged where possible and plenty of opportunity to talk through more involved cases when another perspective would be useful. Client communication and education are equally important, allowing you to build genuine relationships with owners while remaining closely involved throughout their pet’s care. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian, with at least one year of veterinary practice experience required alongside strong diagnostic, surgical and dental skills.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services alongside daytime Urgent Care, Internal Medicine and Acupuncture, with comprehensive dentistry and a particularly broad surgical offering also available. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Digital Dental Radiography, Ultrasound, ECG, a Surgical Laser and an In-House Laboratory, alongside an In-House Pharmacy and blood transfusion capabilities. Surgical services extend across Soft Tissue Surgery, Reproductive Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery, including procedures involving important joints such as the ACL. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, with Urgent Care available during regular hospital hours.

Team
You’ll currently be joining a 2-DVM team, working alongside 3 Registered Veterinary Technicians and a wider group of experienced support professionals. There’s a strong emphasis on teamwork and maintaining high clinical standards throughout the hospital, with doctors encouraged to discuss cases and take part in daily rounds where possible rather than simply working through their own appointments independently. With experienced technicians around you and a collaborative approach to patient care, there are plenty of people to bounce ideas off and work alongside while still having the clinical autonomy to take ownership of your own patients and build lasting relationships with clients.

Candidate Requirements
