Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a small animal practice seeking an Associate Veterinarian, with full-time preferred but part-time opportunities open for discussion. The hospital currently sees cats and dogs, with equipment already in place to support wildlife and exotic medicine, an area the practice would love to reintroduce.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide the full scope of general practice responsibilities. Full-time doctors typically work four days per week, with hours open to discussion, while part-time scheduling can be discussed based on availability. Appointments are 30 minutes, and there are no weekend shifts. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with strong mentorship available.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The practice is AAHA accredited, with Fear Free certified technicians, and has four exam rooms. Equipment includes IDEXX in-house laboratory capabilities, digital dental equipment, digital X-ray and ultrasound. The hospital provides a full scope of general practice services, including wellness, preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery and dentistry.

Team
The team consists of one full-time DVM and two part-time DVMs, supported by a 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio. The support team is tight-knit and well-tenured, with the entire team working harmoniously together. Daily huddles provide an opportunity to discuss what went well, what did not and review from there. Technicians provide extensive support to the doctors, including triage, software and SOAP templates, preparing notes to go home and other tasks, allowing the veterinarian to focus primarily on performing the examination. The practice operates as a well-oiled machine with a strong level of support for its doctors.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
