Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned small animal veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its growing team. Established in 1984 and operated by its current owner for the past seven years, the hospital primarily provides care for dogs and cats but welcomes veterinarians with additional clinical interests they would like to introduce to the practice. The hospital is experiencing rapid growth and is ideally seeking a full-time veterinarian, although part-time candidates will also be considered.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive veterinary care, including wellness examinations, preventative medicine, vaccinations, internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, urgent care and the management of chronic conditions. Surgical opportunities include routine spays and neuters, soft tissue procedures and advanced orthopaedic surgery, with an emphasis on patient safety, anaesthetic monitoring and post-operative pain management. The practice is also open to veterinarians who prefer an appointments-only role. Appointments are typically scheduled for 30 minutes, with additional time allocated when required. Both experienced veterinarians and new graduates are encouraged to apply, with mentorship available. Full-time hours generally consist of four to four and a half days per week with rotating Saturdays, although scheduling arrangements are open to discussion.

Practice Details
The hospital offers a comprehensive range of General Practice services alongside advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities. Equipment includes digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, a Heska in-house laboratory and Class IV therapeutic laser technology. Facilities include three examination rooms and surgical equipment supporting both routine and advanced procedures. Additional services include laparoscopic surgery, regenerative medicine using PRP therapy, laser therapy, telemedicine, microchipping, parasite prevention and dental care. The practice places a strong emphasis on incorporating modern veterinary technology, client education and effective pain management into patient care. The hospital operates Monday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with Wednesdays and Sundays closed.

Team
The hospital currently has two DVMs supported by two Registered Veterinary Technicians, three veterinary assistants, reception staff and an office manager. The team is committed to delivering high-quality patient care, supporting clients through treatment decisions and maintaining a positive working environment. Mentorship is available for new graduates, with the practice welcoming veterinarians at all stages of their careers.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
