Introduction
With advanced surgery, diagnostic imaging and dentistry sitting alongside everyday General Practice medicine, this full-service small animal hospital in Rancho Santa Margarita, California is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian. Providing care for dogs and cats, the hospital gives its veterinarians plenty of opportunity to build long-term relationships with clients while having the clinical resources to investigate and manage more involved cases in-house. It’s a nice environment for someone who enjoys the variety of GP but also wants the opportunity to make use of a broader range of medical and surgical capabilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of cases across preventive medicine, diagnostics, treatment planning, Internal Medicine, surgery and dentistry. You’ll be able to stay closely involved throughout your patients’ care, from the initial consultation and diagnostic work-up through to treatment and ongoing case management. There’s also plenty of scope to develop your surgical and diagnostic interests, with more advanced capabilities available within the hospital alongside an experienced veterinary team to bounce ideas off when another perspective would be useful. Client relationships remain an important part of the role, giving you the opportunity to combine high-quality medicine with the continuity and personal relationships that come with General Practice.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services alongside Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Cold Laser Therapy and advanced dental care. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, Echocardiography, Tonopen, Dental Radiography and a complete In-House Laboratory, alongside an In-House Pharmacy and dedicated surgical suite with anesthesia equipment. The combination of advanced imaging and surgical capabilities gives the team plenty of scope to keep more involved cases within the hospital. The practice is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Team
You’ll currently be joining an established 3-DVM team, including a Medical Director, alongside Registered Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, Technician Assistants and a wider client service and hospital management team. Teamwork is a big part of the way the hospital operates, with the doctors and technical team working closely together rather than everyone simply managing their own part of the day independently. There’s a good amount of clinical experience around you to draw on and people to bounce ideas off when cases become more involved, while still having the independence to take ownership of your own patients and develop genuine relationships with clients.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
