Job Description
Introduction
With AAHA accreditation and the opportunity to work with a slightly broader caseload than your typical small animal GP, this full-service hospital in Rancho Cucamonga, California is looking to welcome a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Providing care for dogs, cats, small mammals and reptiles, the hospital combines comprehensive General Practice medicine with strong diagnostic, dental and surgical capabilities. Having served the surrounding community since 1994, there’s also a well-established client base and plenty of opportunity to build the kind of long-term relationships that make General Practice particularly rewarding.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of cases across preventive medicine, diagnostics, treatment planning, surgery and dentistry. You’ll be encouraged to practice high-quality medicine while developing genuine relationships with clients and remaining closely involved throughout their pets’ care. There’s a strong emphasis on collaboration rather than working through cases in isolation, giving you an experienced team around you to bounce ideas off and learn from while still having the independence to use your own clinical judgement. Continued development is also well supported, making this a nice environment for someone who wants to keep building their skills and exploring their individual clinical interests.
Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA accredited and provides a full scope of GP services, with comprehensive dentistry, surgery and diagnostic medicine available within the practice. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Digital Dental Radiography, Ultrasound and an In-House Laboratory, supporting the team in working up and managing a broad range of cases internally. Surgical services extend from routine procedures through to more complex operations, while same-day appointments and walk-ins provide some additional variety to the everyday caseload. The current facility has also received recognition within the veterinary industry for its hospital design. The practice is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays.
Team
You’ll be joining an experienced veterinary team alongside a wider group of clinical and support professionals within a hospital that puts a lot of value on compassionate medicine and maintaining a personal approach to client care. There’s a good amount of experience within the veterinary team to draw on, including clinicians with backgrounds spanning General Practice and small animal internship training. That gives you people to talk cases through with and another perspective when you need one, while still having the freedom to take ownership of your patients and develop your own relationships with clients.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
