Our client is a full-service small animal hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their established and community-trusted team. They provide veterinary and urgent care services for dogs and cats and have been a cornerstone of the Powhatan, Virginia community since 1987. Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with Sundays closed. The schedule offers flexibility for full-time or part-time employment, with no additional after-hours required beyond the stated opening times.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role includes delivering comprehensive veterinary care across wellness and prevention, diagnostics, internal medicine, endocrinology, ophthalmology, dermatology, pain management, behavior therapy, radiology, and surgical procedures. You will play an essential role in supporting both routine and urgent care needs within the Powhatan community, including same-day appointments and weekend availability. The position is open to both new graduates and experienced doctors, supported by mentorship and opportunities for continued professional development.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full spectrum of services including wellness and prevention, testing and diagnostics, radiology, endocrine care, ophthalmology, internal medicine, surgical procedures, pain management, dermatology, and behavior therapy. They also offer urgent care, ensuring timely support when pets need it most. With access to internal specialty consultations and a culture focused on growth and learning, the practice is designed to help veterinarians expand their skill sets while delivering consistent, high-quality medical care.

Team
The practice is home to 4 DVMs, supported by a brilliant and dedicated paraprofessional team. The environment is collaborative, patient-focused, and deeply committed to professional development and high medical standards.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
