Introduction
A full-service AAHA-accredited, Fear Free Certified, and Cat-Friendly practice in Portland, Oregon is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian. This 10-doctor team offers advanced medicine, surgery, and dentistry in a state-of-the-art facility designed to support high-quality care and a collaborative work environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Flexible scheduling is available, with no on-call responsibilities and never a single-doctor day.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care while working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff. Responsibilities include conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating patients, communicating effectively with clients, and contributing to a positive, team-focused environment. Opportunities exist to expand into advanced procedures, including ultrasound, endoscopy, acupuncture, and orthopedic surgery, depending on the candidate’s interests.

Practice Details
The hospital features nine exam rooms, advanced diagnostics (in-house IDEXX and Zoetis analyzers, digital radiography, two dental suites with digital dental radiography, ultrasound, Storz endoscopy, video otoscopy, Tonopen), and modern treatment options such as surgical and therapeutic lasers, CryoPen, and PHOVIA units. Surgical capabilities range from routine soft tissue to advanced orthopedic procedures. The hospital also partners with traveling specialists in internal medicine and cardiology. A strong focus on education is supported by close ties to local veterinary technician training programs.

Team
The veterinary team includes 10 doctors supported by 8 certified veterinary technicians, skilled technical assistants, and doctor’s assistants. The team culture emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, and professional development, creating a supportive environment for both seasoned veterinarians and developing professionals.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
