Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team. This well-established general practice sees dogs, cats, exotics, and pocket pets, and has been providing care to its community for over 40 years. The hospital is dedicated to offering compassionate, personalized veterinary medicine and is open to experienced veterinarians as well as new graduates seeking mentorship.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm for technician appointments only, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The hospital is closed on Sundays. Weekend coverage is on a rotating basis. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available, as well as relief options, providing flexibility to suit different needs.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role includes responsibilities across wellness care, dentistry, surgery, internal medicine, and urgent care. Candidates should be proficient in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry, with opportunities to work with exotics and pocket pets. The position is suitable for experienced veterinarians as well as new graduates, with structured mentorship provided to support early career development.

Practice Details
The hospital is well-equipped with digital radiology, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, and in-house laboratory testing, including blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams, and cytology. Services offered include wellness care, vaccinations, dental care, parasite prevention, surgery, microchipping, senior pet care, nutritional counseling, and urgent care. Facilities also include diagnostic imaging and hospitalization. The practice prides itself on a supportive, community-focused culture and offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment options to ensure high standards of care.

Team
The hospital is staffed by two veterinarians supported by a dedicated team of technicians and support staff. The environment is collaborative and mentoring-focused, ensuring support for both new graduates and experienced doctors alike.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
