Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a progressive mixed animal practice with a strong focus on bovine care. The role involves working with both large and small animals, supporting a diverse rural caseload in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00pm, and is closed on Sundays. Weekend calls are required on a rotating basis approximately every fifth weekend.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves providing veterinary care to both large and small animals, with a primary focus on bovine medicine. Responsibilities include general medicine and surgery, herd health work, obstetrics, vaccination programs, feedlot consulting, and small animal procedures such as wellness care, spays and neuters, and internal medicine. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship available.
Practice Details
The practice is a mixed animal facility serving a rural community, with approximately 70% large animal and 30% small animal caseload. Facilities include modern load-out areas, ultrasound, digital radiology, an equine dental machine, and IDEXX bloodwork analyzers. Services provided include herd health management, reproductive services, vaccinations, parasite control, emergency care, and comprehensive small animal services such as preventative care, diagnostics, surgery, and wellness programs. The clinic emphasizes high-quality care, strong client relationships, and a collaborative working environment.
Team
The team consists of five DVMs supported by four full-time veterinary technicians, one part-time assistant, and two part-time large animal assistants, creating a highly supportive and efficient working environment with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
