Job Description
Introduction
Our client is hiring for a Mixed Animal Veterinarian to work across two practices, one small animal hospital and one large animal hospital. The role involves working across both small and large animal medicine, supporting a diverse caseload within a well-established mixed animal practice.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and is closed on Sundays. Ideally, the role would be four days per week with every other Saturday, however the practice is very open to discussion. The large animal hospital hours vary based on the work load, emergencies and on call hours. This is a full-time position.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As a Mixed Animal Veterinarian, you will provide medical care to both large animal and small animal patients, with an average caseload of approximately 60% small animal and 40% large animal.
In the production animal setting, you will work collaboratively with producers to support practical, sustainable, and economically sound herd health outcomes. Responsibilities include delivering evidence-based preventive medicine, reproductive services, milk quality support, record analysis, consultative services, on-farm staff training, and participation in a shared 24/7 emergency rotation.
For small ruminant patients, this role includes providing preventive care, reproductive services, internal medicine, and a variety of surgical procedures. A strong emphasis is placed on client education, ensuring owners are well-informed and confident in the care of their animals. Veterinarians of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
Practice Details
The practice operates across two hospitals, one small animal and one mixed animal. The team uses up-to-date diagnostic equipment and applies the most current knowledge in veterinary medicine to support both farm operations and backyard patients, with a focus on delivering effective, practical, and high-quality veterinary care.
Team
The veterinary team consists of six DVMs at the large animal facility and two at the small animal clinic and is supported by a great group of support staff. The support team plays an integral role in daily operations, contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment that allows veterinarians to work efficiently across both hospitals and deliver consistent, high-quality care.
