Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team, providing care for cats and dogs. This role offers the opportunity to work in a boutique general practice nestled in the heart of Silicon Valley in Palo Alto, California, where veterinarians are supported in delivering high-quality, compassionate care while building strong relationships with clients and their pets.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is closed on Mondays and Fridays. It operates Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The role is open to either full-time or part-time candidates, offering flexibility depending on the successful applicant’s availability.

Role Description and Responsibilities
In this position, you will deliver clinical excellence by diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries, prescribing medications, performing surgeries, and developing comprehensive treatment plans. You will play a key role in client communication, building trust with pet owners by clearly explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and home care instructions with empathy and professionalism. Collaboration is central to the role, as you will work closely with veterinary technicians and support staff, providing guidance while valuing their input and expertise. A strong emphasis is placed on preventive care, including educating clients on vaccinations, parasite control, nutrition, and early disease detection. You will also be encouraged to stay current with veterinary advancements and contribute to a culture of medical excellence and innovation within the hospital. With guidance and support from the Medical Director, you will practice high-quality medicine while delivering compassionate care to every patient. The role offers a balance of clinical autonomy and mentorship, allowing you to develop your skills while providing exceptional veterinary care. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and operates from a modern, spacious facility designed to support both efficiency and comfort. Located in Palo Alto, California, the hospital provides wellness, preventative, and urgent care services along with diagnostics, surgery, therapeutic laser treatments, health certificates, and an on-site pharmacy. The environment has been thoughtfully designed to support the wellbeing of the team, with dedicated wellness spaces including a fully stocked snack room and a tranquil outdoor break area. As a smaller practice, it offers an atmosphere where ideas are heard and individual contributions matter, allowing team members to make a meaningful impact on patient care and the development of the practice.
