Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a Veterinarian. This is a well-established small animal practice providing comprehensive general practice, urgent care, and surgical services, with some exposure to exotic pets. The role is a full-time Veterinarian position caring primarily for dogs and cats.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a scheduled closure for lunch between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm. This position is offered on a full-time basis. Optional after-hours emergency calls are available, with participation on a rotating basis and additional compensation for any emergencies taken.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinarian will be responsible for examining patients, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing surgery, dentistry, vaccinations, and urgent care services. Daily duties include client communication and education, prescribing medications, operating diagnostic equipment, and collaborating closely with the veterinary and technical team to deliver high-quality patient care. The role is open to both new graduates and experienced veterinarians, with mentorship and clinical support available.
Practice Details
The hospital offers a full range of services including wellness and preventative care, urgent care, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, laboratory services, end-of-life care, nutrition, pharmacy, microchipping, boarding, and grooming. Diagnostic and medical equipment includes digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, therapy laser, in-house laboratory capabilities, and advanced surgical and anesthetic monitoring equipment. Appointment lengths are structured to allow thorough and personalized care. The practice culture emphasizes collaboration, long-term patient relationships, and work-life balance, supported by flexible scheduling and optional emergency coverage.
Team
The team consists of three DVMs supported by six technicians. The working environment is collaborative and mentorship-focused, with an emphasis on teamwork, professional development, and providing consistent, high-quality care to patients and clients.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
