Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a busy, full-service practice in Oakland, California, currently seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join their collaborative and supportive team. This hospital is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and fostering a positive workplace culture built on teamwork and shared expertise.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open seven days a week, with hours from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekends. The schedule is flexible for the right candidate, with coverage required during regular business hours and weekends as part of a shared rotation.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical care across a wide variety of cases, including wellness exams, dentistry, surgery, emergency care, and preventive medicine. This role is best suited to an experienced veterinarian seeking to practice in a dynamic, client-focused setting.

Practice Details
The hospital is well-equipped with in-house diagnostics including digital radiography, blood chemistry analysis, and complete blood count capabilities. Services provided include preventive care, surgical procedures, dental services, emergency care, geriatric care, and hospice care. The clinic culture emphasizes compassionate service, medical excellence, and ongoing professional development.

Team
The team includes one experienced DVM supported by a skilled and tenured technical staff. The work environment is collaborative and efficient, with a strong emphasis on mutual support and high standards of patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
