Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a well-established, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital in Peoria, Illinois, seeking a Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital provides full-service care across two locations and is dedicated to delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and dental services to small animals. This opportunity is open to both part-time and full-time candidates, with strong mentorship available for new graduates.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm and on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Veterinarians benefit from flexible scheduling options, including both full-time and part-time positions, as well as scheduled lunch breaks from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. There are no after-hours or emergency call requirements.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role encompasses a wide range of clinical responsibilities, including preventive and wellness care, diagnostics, internal medicine, dermatology, cardiology, dentistry, surgery, and hospitalization. There are opportunities to pursue advanced procedures such as orthopedic surgery, PennHip evaluations, TPLO procedures, abdominal ultrasound, echocardiography, and acupuncture. The hospital welcomes veterinarians of all experience levels, with structured mentorship and professional development available for recent graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital is fully equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities, including digital radiography, diagnostic imaging, in-house laboratory, and laser therapy. Services cover preventative care, internal medicine, dentistry, advanced diagnostics, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, urgent care, hospitalization, and end-of-life support. The practice is AAHA-accredited and maintains a strong focus on professional development, client education, and community leadership.

Team
The team consists of six DVMs supported by a 2–2.5:1 staff-to-doctor ratio. The culture is collaborative, mentorship-focused, and respectful, ensuring that veterinarians are supported by highly trained staff while working in a positive and professional environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
