Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned veterinary hospital providing predominantly small animal care, with a smaller large animal caseload. The hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian on either a full-time or part-time basis. The current caseload is approximately 95% small animal, including cats and dogs, and 5% large animal, including equine, bovine, sheep, goats, and farm animals. The hospital is open to a veterinarian who wishes to focus exclusively on small animal medicine, while also being willing to grow the large animal side of the practice. The hospital offers a family-friendly environment with positive morale.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for the full scope of general practice responsibilities. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates. Full-time scheduling consists of four 10-hour shifts, with part-time arrangements also open for discussion. There are no on-call requirements, and the hospital is closed on weekends.
Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of general practice services, including wellness, preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and dentistry. Appointments are typically scheduled for 20–30 minutes, and the practice also holds technician appointments. The 4,000-square-foot facility includes six exam rooms, two dental tables, a surgery suite, canine, feline, and ICU kennels, a large animal haul-in area, and a rear courtyard for farm animals. Equipment includes in-house laboratory capabilities, digital X-ray, ultrasound, a therapeutic laser used post-operatively, and Avimark EMR. Hospital opening hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. The hospital is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Team
The veterinary team consists of one full-time DVM and one part-time DVM. They are supported by 11 additional staff members, providing a well-supported working environment.
