Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned veterinary hospital with a great focus on delivering a high standard of care. They are currently seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital provides care for small animals and exotics and is dedicated to offering comprehensive general practice services with a supportive and patient-focused approach.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, on Thursday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and on Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The role is ideally part-time, with a schedule of around 20 hours per week, though there is flexibility for discussion. Appointments are scheduled in 15 to 30-minute increments, and working hours can be tailored in line with the doctor’s preferences.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide the full scope of general practice responsibilities, including wellness, internal medicine, dentistry, and other routine care, with the option for a non-surgical caseload if preferred. The position is open to both confident new graduates and experienced doctors, ensuring support and flexibility in professional growth and focus areas.
Practice Details
The hospital is well-equipped with digital x-ray, laser therapy, in-house laboratory capabilities, Avimark EMR, and a radiosurgical unit. It provides a full range of general practice services, including orthopedic surgery, though the incoming doctor is not required to perform orthopedic procedures unless desired. Mentorship in this area is available for those with interest.
Team
The hospital currently has one DVM, supported by one full-time and one part-time receptionist, along with two veterinary assistants. There is scope to expand the team further. The environment is collaborative and designed to provide strong support to the veterinarian in delivering excellent care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
