Job Description

Introduction
With dedicated mentorship and a particularly strong level of technical support, this small animal hospital in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania is looking to welcome a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Providing care for dogs and cats, the hospital combines everyday General Practice with surgery, dentistry and a good range of diagnostic capabilities, while maintaining a collaborative environment where veterinarians have plenty of support around them. Students and new graduates are actively encouraged to apply, making this a particularly nice opportunity for someone looking for a structured start to their veterinary career, while experienced veterinarians can equally benefit from an established clinical team and the freedom to continue developing their own interests.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to develop and take ownership of cases across preventive medicine, diagnostics, treatment planning, dentistry and surgery. You’ll work closely with the veterinary and technical teams throughout the day, with an emphasis on collaboration, sharing knowledge and continuing to develop clinically rather than simply being left to manage unfamiliar cases alone. For a newer veterinarian, dedicated mentorship provides the opportunity to build confidence and independence at a comfortable pace, while experienced veterinarians will have the freedom to bring their own knowledge and interests to the team. Applications are welcomed from both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with continued learning supported through dedicated mentorship and ongoing professional development.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services alongside comprehensive dentistry and Soft Tissue Surgery, with additional boarding, daycare and grooming facilities available through the wider hospital and pet resort. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Dental Radiography, Ultrasound and EKG, alongside an In-House Pharmacy and dedicated In-Office Surgical Suite. These capabilities give the veterinary team a good foundation for working cases up internally while maintaining the familiar feel of a community General Practice environment. Current opening hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays.

Team
You’ll be joining an established 3-DVM team supported by 3 Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and 6 Veterinary Assistants, providing a particularly good level of clinical support throughout the working day. That becomes especially valuable for a newer veterinarian, giving you experienced doctors and technical professionals around you to ask questions, bounce ideas off and learn from as your confidence develops. The team places plenty of emphasis on collaboration and teaching, while still encouraging veterinarians to develop their independence and build their own relationships with clients. With dedicated mentorship specifically available to students and new graduates, there’s a clear structure here for someone who wants to keep progressing rather than simply being expected to find their feet on their own.
