Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned hospital hiring for a Mixed or Small Animal Veterinarian position, offering flexibility for either full-time or part-time work. The caseload is primarily cats and dogs (90%), with a smaller proportion of equine cases (10%), and the role is open to candidates who prefer small animal only or those interested in seeing both small animals and equine.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role involves a full scope of general practice responsibilities, including routine and preventative care, diagnostics, and treatment. The position offers flexibility in working hours, which are open to discussion. The hospital welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, providing an environment where a range of experience levels can thrive.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6pm and has recently undergone a brand-new remodel. Facilities include five exam rooms and are fully equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, anesthesia machines, two surgery tables, an LED surgery light, four treatment tables, a dedicated dental table, digital dental radiography, laser therapy equipment, and IDEXX in-house laboratories with additional external lab support. The practice is fully computerised, with laptops available in each exam room, and is equipped with EKG and blood pressure monitoring. The hospital is Fear Free certified and offers a full range of general practice services, as well as acupuncture and laser therapy. The team places a strong emphasis on client interaction and thorough case workups, reflected in 45-minute doctor appointment slots, alongside 20-minute technician appointments.
Team
The hospital has a team of four DVMs supported by a great group of well-trained support staff. The team is composed of individuals who are highly competent and perform their roles to a high standard, contributing to an efficient and supportive working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
