Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a well-established mixed animal practice, founded in 1965, currently hiring for a full-time Mixed Animal Veterinarian. The clinic sees a diverse caseload made up of approximately 75% bovine (including dairy, beef, sheep, goat, and swine) and 25% companion animal, including equine. The small animal and equine facilities were reconstructed in 2014, supporting a broad and evolving service offering.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role involves a full scope of general practice responsibilities across mixed animal species. The successful candidate will be involved in routine and preventative care as well as medical and potentially surgical cases, depending on experience and interests. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with flexibility around doctor hours to be discussed.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, Saturdays from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, and is closed on Sundays. The small animal facilities include two exam rooms, CR radiology, and Abaxis laboratory equipment. Large animal facilities are extensive and include a Flying W hydraulic squeeze/tilt chute, an enclosed box stall cow barn, an additional processing and breeding manual WW squeeze chute, and a fully enclosed horse barn with dual stocks and a padded surgery room. The practice is equipped with multiple Easi-scan ultrasounds, an Ibex ultrasound, Idexx CR radiology equipment, and an in-house milk and pregnancy lab. Services offered include a full scope of GP services, herd management, artificial insemination, and reproduction work.
Team
The team consists of 5 DVMs supported by a well-trained support staff, contributing to a collaborative working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
