Introduction
Our client is a well-established animal hospital in Midlothian, Virginia, seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their long-standing, AAHA-accredited team. This small animal and exotics practice has been serving dogs, cats, and a wide range of patients for over 25 years, providing compassionate, progressive veterinary care in a warm and community-rooted environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm and on Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. This is a full-time position with a consistent schedule and no Sunday hours, supporting a healthy work-life balance while still offering a varied and engaging caseload.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will deliver comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to a diverse patient population that includes dogs, cats, and exotic species. Daily responsibilities include wellness and preventive care, internal medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. Veterinarians with an interest in exotics will have the opportunity to broaden their experience, while newer graduates will be supported through collaboration with a dedicated, experienced team. The role prioritizes excellent client communication, gentle handling, low-stress principles, and contributing to a cohesive, supportive clinic culture.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with modern technology and facilities, including digital radiography, in-house laboratory equipment, soft tissue surgical capabilities, CO₂ laser surgery, dental services, and advanced anesthetic monitoring. As an AAHA-accredited practice, the clinic upholds high standards of care, safety, and continual development. The environment is relaxed yet progressive, emphasizing low-stress and Fear Free principles to ensure comfort for both patients and clients.
Team
The practice is home to a dedicated team of three veterinarians supported by an experienced and loyal group of veterinary technicians and assistants. The culture is warm, collaborative, and deeply rooted in the local community, reflected in strong client relationships and an exceptionally low staff turnover.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
