Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a two-doctor small animal hospital in New Orleans that has been providing care to the community since 2005. They are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their dedicated team. The hospital treats dogs and cats, offering high standards of care in a low-stress environment, with services that include routine wellness, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care during business hours.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It is closed on Sundays. The role offers full-time hours within these business operations.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The veterinarian will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care, while also placing a strong emphasis on client communication and education. Duties include physical examinations, diagnostics, surgical procedures, and dentistry, alongside building treatment plans and educating owners on preventative health care. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records, supporting colleagues with follow-up care, and participating in ongoing professional development. This opportunity is open to experienced veterinarians with structured mentorship and leadership development programs available.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with diagnostic and advanced care tools including radiology, ultrasound, electrocardiogram (EKG), in-house laboratory testing, and anesthetic monitoring equipment. The facility provides a wide range of services such as wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, urgent care, surgery, dental procedures, pain management, behavioral counseling, and grooming. Patients benefit from a comprehensive approach that prioritizes low-stress handling and client education.

Team
The hospital has two veterinarians supported by a skilled team of support staff. The culture is collaborative, community-focused, and client-oriented, with an emphasis on mentorship, continuing education, and professional growth for all team members.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
