Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital hiring a full-time Medical Director in Media, Pennsylvania. The hospital is a full-service veterinary practice focused on improving the lives of pets and their owners through high-quality medicine, strong leadership, and exceptional client care. This role offers the opportunity to lead a hospital team while remaining hands-on clinically, helping to shape medical standards, culture, and patient outcomes within a supportive and purpose-driven environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Thursday through Saturday from 9:00am to 9:00pm, Sunday from 9:00am to 8:00pm, Monday and Tuesday from 9:00am to 9:00pm, and Wednesday from 9:00am to 7:00pm. This position is full-time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director is responsible for leading the hospital’s veterinary team while also providing high-quality clinical care. Clinical responsibilities include performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illness and injury, providing preventive care, developing diagnostic and treatment plans, and performing routine and complex surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, mass removals, and exploratory surgeries. The role also includes routine and advanced dental procedures, interpretation of dental radiographs, and management of hospitalized patients. From a leadership perspective, the Medical Director mentors and coaches veterinarians, sets and maintains medical standards, oversees compliance with medical protocols and regulations, supports scheduling and onboarding, reviews medical records, and partners with hospital leadership to support medical quality, team development, and overall hospital performance. This role is open to veterinarians with a range of experience levels who are interested in clinical leadership.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a broad range of veterinary services including routine wellness care, vaccinations, flea, tick and heartworm prevention, illness and injury care, diagnostic imaging, surgery, dentistry, and prescription medication management. The practice emphasizes a problem-based medical approach, thorough documentation, continuity of care, and a strong focus on patient safety, client communication, and clinical quality. The hospital environment is designed to support both efficient operations and high standards of veterinary medicine.

The Medical Director leads the hospital’s veterinary team and works closely with hospital leadership and support staff to foster a collaborative, respectful, and team-oriented culture. Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
