Introduction
For a veterinarian who enjoys having strong diagnostic capabilities available within a traditional General Practice setting, this small animal hospital in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian. Providing care for dogs and cats, the hospital combines everyday preventive and medical care with Internal Medicine, advanced dentistry, surgery and more involved diagnostic work-ups. With a Monday-to-Friday schedule and weekends closed, there’s also a particularly nice balance for someone who wants to continue developing clinically without their working week regularly extending into Saturdays and Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of cases across preventive medicine, diagnostics, treatment planning, Internal Medicine, dentistry and surgery. You’ll be able to follow patients throughout their care and make use of the hospital’s in-house diagnostic capabilities when cases require further investigation, while working closely with the wider clinical team when another perspective would be useful. There’s also good scope to develop particular interests within areas such as dentistry, surgery and diagnostic medicine, while continuing to build genuine long-term relationships with clients and having the independence to manage your own caseload.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services alongside Internal Medicine, Advanced Dental Care, Soft Tissue Surgery, Laser Surgery and Cold Laser Therapy. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Dental Radiography, Echocardiography, EKG, Tonopen and a complete In-House Laboratory, alongside an In-House Pharmacy and dedicated surgical suite with anesthesia equipment. The In-House Laboratory supports complete blood counts and comprehensive chemistry testing, while the hospital also has hospitalization, Isolation and Intensive Care capabilities for patients requiring closer medical management. Current opening hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the hospital closed Saturday and Sunday.

Team
You’ll be joining an established veterinary and support team that places plenty of emphasis on working together and providing consistent care throughout each patient’s visit. The wider clinical team includes Credentialed Veterinary Technician support alongside additional veterinary and client care professionals, giving you experienced people around you throughout the working day. There’s also access to the wider clinical knowledge and specialist resources available across the veterinary network when a case would benefit from additional input, while still giving you the independence to take ownership of your patients and develop your own approach to General Practice.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
