Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a welcoming companion animal practice. The hospital sees dogs, cats, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, and pocket pets, and is open to incorporating additional clinical interests into the practice. They are ideally hiring for a full-time position but would consider part-time for the right candidate. The practice is known for its warm, client-focused approach, placing a strong emphasis on client education and taking the time to build lasting relationships.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide a combination of general practice, surgery, and dentistry, managing a varied caseload throughout the day. A typical schedule includes morning consultations, dedicated surgical time, and afternoon appointments, with a significant focus on dentistry and surgery. Appointment lengths vary depending on case complexity, with 15-minute wellness appointments, 30-minute sick appointments, and longer consultations for more complex cases. Doctors participate in a mandatory after-hours rotation shared with three local hospitals, including Tuesday evenings, every other Wednesday, and one weekend per month, with additional compensation for on-call work. The role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
Doctors typically work a 4.5-day week, with full-time based on 40 hours per week. The daily schedule generally consists of appointments from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., surgery beginning around 10:00 a.m. for one doctor, followed by a break and afternoon appointments from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, a portable ultrasound with future upgrade plans, in-house laboratory equipment, a surgery suite with brand-new surgical equipment, a surgical laser, therapy laser, patient monitoring equipment, a treatment room with a gas machine, an oxygen cage, brand-new dental equipment, and an electronic medical records system. The facility includes dedicated exam rooms, a fully equipped treatment area, surgery suite, and dental equipment to support a broad range of medical and surgical procedures. Services offered include preventative care, surgery, dentistry, laser therapy, diagnostic imaging, in-house laboratory testing, and care for dogs, cats, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, and pocket pets. The hospital is recognized for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent client communication, and commitment to client education. Doctors are supported by a collaborative team and participate in an after-hours emergency rotation shared with three neighbouring veterinary hospitals.

Team
The team consists of 2 DVMs supported by 1 veterinary technician and 5 veterinary assistants. The practice promotes a collaborative, supportive environment where doctors are encouraged to pursue their individual clinical interests while delivering high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
