Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital serving dogs and cats in Manlius, New York, just outside Syracuse. Established in 1973, the hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care with a strong focus on compassionate, high-quality medicine and long-standing client relationships. They are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their well-established, community-focused team, with both experienced veterinarians and new graduates considered for the opportunity.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive veterinary care with a clinical focus on preventive wellness, diagnostics, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and other general practice services. Responsibilities include examinations, vaccinations, diagnostic care, surgery, dentistry and oral surgery, mass removals, spays and neuters, advanced procedures, end-of-life care, and supporting strong client relationships through personalized care. An interest or experience in surgery is especially valued, with opportunities available to continue developing surgical skills. The position offers a strong work-life balance with limited on-call responsibilities for boarding animals, no overnight shifts, and only light weekend coverage. Both experienced veterinarians and new graduates will be considered.
Practice Details
The AAHA-accredited hospital has served the Manlius community since 1973 and provides examinations, vaccinations, surgery, diagnostics, chiropractic care, end-of-life care, and boarding, alongside preventive wellness, dentistry, advanced diagnostics, and soft tissue surgery. Surgical services include spays and neuters, mass removals, oral surgery and extractions, advanced procedures, and additional surgeries tailored to individual patient needs. The practice emphasizes compassionate, personalized and low-stress care, using gentle handling, thoughtful restraint methods, minimal use of muzzles, and additional patience for anxious, senior, and special-needs patients. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM–6:00 PM and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Team
The hospital has three DVMs and a great tenured support team. Veterinarians and support staff work collaboratively as animal advocates and educators, with a shared focus on compassionate and personalized patient care. The team provides a calm and supportive environment for pets and clients while maintaining a strong standard of medicine and encouraging continued professional growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
