Job Description

Introduction
Bringing together everyday General Practice with daytime Urgent and Emergency Care, this full-service veterinary hospital in West Los Angeles, California is looking to welcome a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Caring for dogs and cats, the practice has spent more than three decades building a reputation within the local community and offers a broad medical, diagnostic and surgical caseload. With flexible three-day, four-day and rotating 3/4/3 schedules available, it’s a nice opportunity for an experienced veterinarian who wants plenty of clinical variety while having more control over how their working week is structured.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities alongside Urgent and Emergency cases presenting during regular hospital hours. You’ll take ownership of your patients across examinations, medical work-ups, diagnostics, treatment planning, surgery and dentistry, while maintaining clear communication with clients throughout their care. There’s a strong emphasis on clinical standards and teamwork, with the opportunity to collaborate closely with the wider veterinary and support team, participate in daily case rounds where possible and contribute to the smooth running of the hospital from admission through to discharge. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian, with at least one year of veterinary practice experience required alongside strong diagnostic, surgical and dental skills. Flexible scheduling is a particularly nice part of the opportunity, with three-day, four-day and rotating 3/4/3 working patterns all available.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services alongside daytime Urgent and Emergency Care, Internal Medicine and Cold Laser Therapy, with comprehensive surgery, dentistry and diagnostic medicine available within the practice. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Digital Dental Radiography, Ultrasound, ECG/EKG and a state-of-the-art In-House Laboratory, alongside a dedicated sterile surgical suite and electronic patient monitoring equipment. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays.

Team
You’ll be joining an experienced veterinary, technician and support team within a hospital that places a lot of value on teamwork, professional development and giving people the opportunity to contribute to how the practice operates. There’s a genuinely collaborative element to the role, with daily rounds encouraged where possible and plenty of opportunity to talk through cases and draw on the experience of the people around you. At the same time, the hospital maintains its own local identity and clinical culture while having access to the additional resources of a wider veterinary network, giving you support when you need it without taking away the independence to manage your own cases and build lasting relationships with clients.
