Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a long-established, full-service small animal hospital seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian to join its team. Caring for cats and dogs, the practice provides comprehensive general veterinary medicine encompassing preventative care, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, sick visits, and urgent care. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian looking to join a practice with longstanding roots within its local community.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and preventative care while building strong relationships with clients through clear communication and education. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing routine soft tissue surgeries and dentistry where applicable.
The veterinarian will also maintain accurate medical records, promote preventative healthcare, follow hospital protocols, and collaborate with the wider veterinary team to ensure a high standard of patient care while contributing to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented working environment. This position is open to experienced veterinarians only.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Having served the local community since the 1950s, this full-service veterinary facility provides clean and comfortable examination rooms alongside facilities supporting diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, urgent care, and pharmacy services.
The practice describes its diagnostic capabilities as using state-of-the-art equipment, including bloodwork and diagnostic imaging, and has an on-site, fully stocked pharmacy. The hospital also has a contemporary laboratory and X-ray equipment, dedicated surgical suites, digital dental X-ray, and a full range of anesthetic monitoring equipment.
A comprehensive range of services includes wellness examinations, preventative care, vaccinations, puppy and kitten care, sick visits, urgent care, diagnostic testing, bloodwork, diagnostic imaging, dental cleanings, surgery, spays and neuters, end-of-life care, and pharmacy services. Urgent care is available for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries requiring prompt attention, including minor injuries, vomiting, and diarrhea, with same-day treatment potentially available depending on availability.
The team manages a broad variety of medical presentations, including lethargy, limping and lameness, respiratory symptoms, dermatological problems, ear infections, excessive thirst and urination, weight changes, dental problems, appetite changes, eye conditions, seizures, abnormal masses, breathing difficulties, behavioral changes, and suspected gastrointestinal blockages.
With roots in the San Fernando Valley dating back to the 1950s, the practice combines its longstanding community presence with advances in veterinary medicine, diagnostics, and surgery. The multilingual team speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Armenian, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu.

Team
The hospital’s veterinarians and support staff are highly trained and experienced, with a strong emphasis on compassionate veterinary care and developing long-term relationships with clients and their pets. Working within a multi-doctor, full-service environment, the team remains current with advances in veterinary medicine while providing care across a varied small animal caseload.
