Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a companion animal hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis. Caring for cats and dogs, the practice combines Eastern and Western medicine while remaining committed to using Fear Free techniques whenever possible. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates looking to work in a collaborative and progressive environment.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care to companion animals while building strong relationships with clients through clear communication and education. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, performing routine soft tissue surgeries and dentistry where applicable, managing medical records accurately, and collaborating with the wider veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient care. The Associate Veterinarian will also promote preventative healthcare, maintain compliance with hospital protocols, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented working environment. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, and is closed on Sundays.
This modern practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology to support high-quality companion animal medicine. Veterinarians have access to a comprehensive in-house laboratory for rapid blood work and diagnostic testing, digital radiography (X-ray), advanced diagnostic imaging, dentistry equipment, modern surgical facilities, and advanced anesthesia monitoring equipment. These resources enable veterinarians to efficiently diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions while supporting preventative care, dentistry, and routine soft tissue surgery.
The purpose-designed facility features dedicated examination rooms, a fully equipped treatment area, surgical suites, an in-house laboratory, diagnostic imaging capabilities, boarding facilities, day care services, and comfortable patient care spaces, allowing veterinarians to manage a broad range of wellness, medical, and surgical cases in an efficient clinical setting.
The practice is AAHA accredited.
A comprehensive range of services is provided for dogs and cats, offering a varied companion animal caseload. Services include wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention and control, allergy and dermatology care, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, in-house diagnostics, digital radiography, nutritional counselling, puppy and kitten care, senior pet care, pain management, boarding, day care, preventative healthcare, and the ongoing management of acute and chronic medical conditions. The practice also offers alternative and holistic veterinary care, including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, herbal medicine, and holistic medicine.
Team
The hospital is home to four DVMs who work alongside a dedicated support team of veterinary technicians, assistants, client service representatives, and kennel assistants. With six veterinary technicians and assistants, four client service representatives, and four kennel assistants, the practice provides a collaborative environment where every team member plays an important role in delivering high-quality patient care and exceptional client service.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
