Introduction
Our client is a full-service small animal hospital seeking a Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join their team in Lisle, Illinois. The practice provides comprehensive care for companion animals and is supported by a broader national network while maintaining a strong local culture. The role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys surgery and delivering high-quality, compassionate care. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Tuesday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Wednesday from 8:00am to 2:00pm, Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00pm. The hospital is closed on Sundays. This is a part-time position with flexible schedule options available.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Part-Time Associate Veterinarian will conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups, perform diagnostic procedures and surgery, and provide client communication and education. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical records, prescribing medications and adhering to controlled substance protocols, monitoring hospitalized cases, attending daily rounds when possible, and collaborating with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities. The role also involves evaluating hospital protocols, promoting teamwork and staff efficiency, and participating in management updates and training. Candidates must hold a DVM degree, maintain a current state veterinary license and DEA registration, and have at least one year of experience in a veterinary practice. Strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills are required, along with a team-oriented approach and excellent communication abilities.

Practice Details
This well-established hospital has been serving the community for over 35 years and offers a wide range of services including wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, urgent care, geriatric care, puppy and kitten care, surgical procedures, and preventive services. Surgical capabilities include soft tissue surgery, spaying and neutering, mass removal, foreign body procedures, wound repair, and dental surgery. The facility features a full in-house Idexx laboratory suite, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, therapeutic and surgical lasers, ECG/EKG, and separate dental and surgical suites. Diagnostic services include bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams, and advanced imaging. The hospital maintains an in-house pharmacy and emphasizes ongoing education, offering CE grants for surgical, critical care, dental, and ultrasound wetlabs. A 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio supports efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.

Team
The veterinary team consists of 2 DVMs supported by experienced technicians and support staff. The doctor team is tenured and mentorship-focused, fostering a collaborative, supportive environment with strong technical assistance and a culture centered on teamwork and professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
