Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital that provides care exclusively for cats and dogs. They are currently hiring for an Associate Veterinarian to join their team.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8am to 6pm, Wednesday and Friday from 8am to 5pm, and Saturday from 8am to 1:30pm. They are closed on Sundays. The position offers flexibility for full-time or part-time employment. For full-time roles, the schedule typically involves working four days per week with rotating Saturdays. The practice is open to discussing specific working hours with candidates.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering full-service general practice veterinary care. Daily duties will include comprehensive wellness exams, dental care, advanced diagnostics, and optional participation in services such as laser therapy and radioiodine therapy for cats. The hospital supports a wide range of clinical interests, including orthopedics, ultrasound, feline medicine, geriatric care, laser surgery, pediatric medicine, and dentistry. This role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

The hospital is well-equipped with industry-leading medical and diagnostic tools to support high-quality patient care. Their services cover a full scope of general practice care along with specialized treatments like laser therapy and radioiodine therapy. The team places a strong emphasis on the lifelong health of their patients through all stages of life.

Team
The veterinary team includes five DVMs and a robust support staff composed of receptionists, veterinary assistants, and nine licensed veterinary technicians. The hospital typically maintains a 1:3-4 doctor-to-support-staff ratio, with at least two Licensed Veterinary Technicians per doctor. The practice takes pride in its collaborative and supportive environment, with notable staff longevity; the average tenure is 12.5 years, with many team members having worked there for 20-30+ years. Team members enjoy a close-knit culture, often spending time together both in and out of the hospital.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
